Look at the reason why your viewership is down.....not everyone can afford to watch it on streaming services. Will have to wait for it to be available on DVD in Australia and even then it's going to be difficult to get the DVDs because Disney will no longer distribute their DVDs to Australia.

Problem who is having is that it doesn't want to course correct back to the formula that made the show successful. They decided that teaming with disney and trying to reach this mythical new audience was the better plan.

I considered buying the game, given all the good reviews it HAD. But... when Sony tried to pull this shenanigan, I decided it wasn't worth my $$ or time. I'm happy as a pc gamer of this win (for democracy!), and hope for more changes and victories in the future.

Honestly, the problem starts with giving an interview to Kotaku. As a developer you should only talk with Kotaku IF diving into controversy is your primary target. So yeah, this developer failed by setting the wrong goals for what he did, giving Kotaku an interview and not wanting to offend most gamers.

You mention rising viewing figures in the Hartnell era. It's crucial to remember that the show was very much seen by the BBC at the time as a children's show - one with an educational angle and made by people who cared about quality, but still a kid's show. As such it was naturally shown in an early evening "teatime" slot but I think it also benefited greatly from being on a Saturday. Many adults would be at home, when they might not have been back from work on a weekday, and already watching TV as Dr Who closely followed sports results programmes. In the days before remote controls, and especially when there were only 2 UK channels then, the TV usually passively stayed on the same channel for much longer, often all evening, than would normally be the case now. This context meant that many more adults, and older teenagers, were exposed to the programme than would normally be the case for a children's show even then, certainly more than now.

Dr Who was ruined when Peter Capalidi took the role. It was so unwatchable that I didn't give more than two episodes a viewing but then it went to the dim woman which was conceptually wrong as he was supposed to be a 900 year old MAN! Then it went even worse with the current dweeb which now means its over.
